About Jay Xue, MD

Jay Xue, MD, is a plastic surgeon who treats a wide range of plastic surgery conditions. These include congenital craniofacial anomalies (cleft lip and palate, vascular and ear abnormalities), craniofacial trauma, breast surgery (breast cancer reconstruction and cosmetic breast procedures), rhinoplasty, and gender-affirming surgery (chest and facial procedures). He also performs a full range of cosmetic surgeries on the face, breasts, and body.

His favorite part of being a plastic surgeon is the ability to improve a patient's quality of life through restoration of function and aesthetics. His philosophy is that every patient is unique, so the treatment plan should be individually tailored to each patient's needs.

In addition to seeing patients at UC San Diego Health, he treats pediatric patients at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego.

Dr. Xue completed a fellowship in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He did an integrated residency at UC Davis Health and earned his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, California Society of Plastic Surgeons, Society of Asian Academic Surgeons, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
