About Bonita Kozma, MD
Bonita Kozma, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in general dermatology as well as treating a variety of skin conditions, including acne, psoriasis, skin cancer and inflammatory skin disorders.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology, Dr. Kozma trains medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her work has appeared in research publications such as Dermatologic Clinics and Dermatology and Therapy.
Dr. Kozma has a long track record of community service – she has served as a volunteer physician at free clinics, where she cared for uninsured and underinsured families.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, she was an assistant clinical professor at UCLA Dermatology for five years. Dr. Kozma also was the dermatology site director at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, where she was awarded the resident teaching award.
Dr. Kozma completed her residency training in dermatology at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. She holds a medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) national medical honor society. She is board certified in dermatology.
She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatologists.
