About Sarah Donnelly, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, CSRS
Sarah Donnelly is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L), certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) and certified stroke and rehabilitation therapist (CSRS). She works with oncology patients and patients with or at risk for developing lymphedema, including those undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and head and neck cancers.
Ms. Donnelly strongly believes in patients' active involvement in their care. This includes establishing rehabilitation goals based around patients' preferred activities in order for them to reengage in the activities they want and need to do as quickly and safely as possible. Working in oncology rehabilitation can be emotionally challenging, but she finds solace in the unyielding strength she sees exhibited daily in her patients.
Prior to outpatient care, Ms. Donnelly worked as an inpatient occupational therapist at UC San Diego. She worked with patients in all areas of the hospital, treating an array of diagnoses with a special interest in the neurology population and with a majority of her time spent with patients in the ICUs. She also has served as a clinical instructor to two occupational therapy students while at UC San Diego and looks forward to mentoring more students in the future.
Ms. Donnelly obtained her master's degree in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
In her free time, Ms. Donnelly enjoys running, hiking, traveling, gardening, going to the beach and spending time with her small and sweet Norfolk terrier.
