About Jeremy Chang, MD
Jeremy Chang, MD, is a medical oncologist who specializes in treating all cancers of the gastrointestinal tract including cancers of the colon, pancreas, esophagus, stomach, anus, small intestine, appendix, liver, and biliary tract as well as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). He uses several types of therapy including targeted therapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapy, and traditional chemotherapy to offer the best treatment options to his patients.
As an oncologist, Dr. Chang believes that clear communication is crucial in fostering a strong patient-physician relationship. He is also an active researcher with a special interest in analyzing molecular alterations from tumor samples in order to provide a personalized approach to cancer treatment. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and received awards from the American Society of Hematology, European Society of Medical Oncology, and Conquer Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Chang completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he was selected to be the chief fellow. He also completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Chang enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
