About Vanessa Goodwill, MD
Vanessa Goodwill, MD, is a board-certified neuropathologist who is on the clinical neuropathology service at UC San Diego Health. She diagnoses various neurologic diseases including brain tumors and non-neoplastic lesions. Additionally, she interprets muscle biopsies to aid in the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases, such as inflammatory myopathies and muscular dystrophies.
Dr. Goodwill enjoys working collaboratively with neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuro-oncologists to aid in the diagnosis of neuropathologic disorders and helping to guide patient treatment.
As an assistant professor of pathology, she is involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows in the neuropathology division.
Dr. Goodwill completed residency training at UC San Diego School of Medicine in anatomic pathology and neuropathology. She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. She is board certified in anatomic pathology and neuropathology.
She is a member of the American Association of Neuropathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology and the American Medical Association.
In her free time, Dr. Goodwill enjoys hiking with her dog.
