Gabriel Wardi, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine and critical care medicine physician. He treats people of all ages with illnesses or injuries in the emergency department setting and critically ill adults in the intensive care unit. Dr. Wardi is the medical director of hospital sepsis at UC San Diego Health.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, he trains medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also directs the residency transition course. His research interests include sepsis, resuscitation, cardiac arrest management, and the development of novel educational curriculum.
Dr. Wardi completed fellowship training in critical care medicine and residency training in emergency medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Wardi also holds a master's degree in public health from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine and a member of Society for Critical Care Medicine, and the Association of American Indian Physicians.
Outside of work, he enjoys international travel, cooking, running and reading.
