Karen Yun, MD

Karen Yun, MD, is a medical oncologist who treats adults with head, neck and lung cancers.

As an oncologist, she provides patient-centered care that is focused on treating cancer and addressing symptoms associated with the disease or side effects of treatment. She works closely with other medical specialists to develop personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Yun believes that building trusting relationships with her patients and supporting them through their cancer journey are the most rewarding aspects of practicing medicine.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2023, Dr. Yun completed her hematology-oncology fellowship and internal medicine residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned a medical degree from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, N.Y.

Dr. Yun is a member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, biking, hiking and exploring new restaurants with her husband.
