Xinyu "Steve" Wang, MD, is an allergy and immunology specialist who treats patients with general allergy, asthma, urticaria (hives), angioedema, drug allergy, food allergy and immunodeficiency.
He emphasizes learning about his patients' perspectives on their health and works with them to develop an individualized patient value-centered care plan.
An assistant professor of medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, he conducts translational and basic science research on the effects of environmental exposures on the development of airway disease.
He completed fellowship training in allergy and immunology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and residency training in internal medicine at LAC+USC Medical Center. Dr. Wang earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. where he also completed a PhD in immunology. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Wang is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and American Thoracic Society (ATS).
He speaks Mandarin fluently.
