David Klein, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in full-scope obstetrics care including pre-pregnancy, prenatal, labor and delivery and postpartum care for low- and high-risk patients. He provides medical treatments and minimally invasive surgery for fibroids, endometriosis, and other gynecologic conditions, as well as management of abnormal Pap smear results and dysplasia of the cervix, vagina, and vulva.
As a clinical instructor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, he teaches medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Klein completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UC San Francisco School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill. where he also completed a master's degree in epidemiology and biostatistics.
He has been active in leadership development and legal advocacy with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). He is also a member of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. Dr. Klein is certified to provide care in Spanish.
In his free time, he enjoys trail running, cooking, scuba diving, travel, and backpacking.
