Jonna Griggs, MSPAS, PA-C

Jonna Griggs, MSPAS, is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) who specializes in breast cancer care at the Comprehensive Breast Health Center at UC San Diego Health.

She supports surgical oncology physicians as a surgical first assist in the operating room for a variety of surgical oncology and breast reconstructive cases, as well as transgender top surgeries. She also provides pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients and performs biopsies, intratumoral injections and other minor procedures in the clinic setting.

In addition to surgical oncology and breast reconstruction, Jonna works with medical oncology physicians in managing therapies for breast cancer patients including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and endocrine therapy. She provides ongoing follow-up care which includes routine breast exams, medication and symptom management for cancer treatment, as well as the ordering of necessary labs and imaging.

She enjoys being a part of the Comprehensive Breast Health Center and the collaborative multi-disciplinary team approach to providing care for all patients. She collaborates with various specialties including genetics, radiology, radiation oncology and psychology to ensure patients receive comprehensive care. She also enjoys providing educational support to medical students and residents in the operating room and clinical settings.

Jonna is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In her free time, Jonna enjoys traveling, tacos, and spending time outdoors. On weekends she is often exploring San Diego on her bike with her toddler in tow or playing ball with her dogs at the park.
