Samantha Gulotta, PhD, MS, LMFT, MedFT

Samantha Gulotta, PhD, is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and medical family therapist (MedFT) with Integrated Behavioral Health at UC San Diego Health, where she collaborates with primary care physicians to deliver integrated, whole-person care. She provides care to individuals (adults, children, and adolescents), couples, and families to treat a wide range of concerns including adjustment to health issues and diagnoses, anxiety, depression, grief and relational stressors.

Dr. Gulotta prioritizes creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and safe environment for her patients and believes a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship is the foundation for change.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Gulotta worked as a behavioral health provider with Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency, Saint Louis University Family Medicine Residency (inpatient and outpatient care), in oncology care, traditional community counseling agencies, school settings (elementary, middle, and high school), and in intensive outpatient services.

After completing her master's degree in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from California State University Fullerton, Dr. Gulotta obtained a doctorate in medical family therapy from Saint Louis University to pursue her passion of recognizing and supporting patients through the various behavioral health concerns that arise in primary care settings.
