About Rahul Gupta, MBBS, MD
Rahul Gupta, MBBS, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who treats acute and chronic medical conditions for adults in the primary care setting. He practices evidenced-based medicine and uses a holistic approach to care for his patients.
Dr. Gupta enjoys working closely with his patients to ensure their concerns are heard and addressed. He believes it's important to build trust in his relationships with patients and for them to feel confident he will always act in their best interests. Dr. Gupta finds it rewarding to make a difference in his patients' lives through healing.
He has an extensive background in research and teaching medical students. His research areas of interest include adult cardiovascular disease and oncology and he has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Gupta has been an active presenter at various national and international meetings and conferences.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, he practiced hospital medicine at Menifee Global Medical Center and Hemet Global Medical Center.
Dr. Gupta served as clinical teaching fellow at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies and completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University. During his residency he served both as house staff president and chief resident. He earned his medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India.
In his free time, Dr. Gupta enjoys cooking and listening to music. He speaks Hindi fluently and understands Punjabi.
