About Alejandra Hernandez, DPT, OCS
Alejandra Hernandez DPT, is a licensed physical therapist and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) who specializes in the treatment of individuals with sports injuries and general orthopedic conditions. She is passionate about empowering her patients to reach their goals through exercise, hands-on techniques, and a collaborative approach.
Hernandez previously worked as an assistant clinical professor for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In this role, she rehabilitated patients with orthopedic injuries, assisted in the advanced orthopedic series for doctoral students, and directed the advanced cervical spine course for the UCSF Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. She also contributed to the Integrated Spine Service, which is a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to help patients with complex chronic back and neck pain. Last, she helped found the Wellness at Work program aimed to reduce repetitive strain injuries and educate the health care workers on proper ergonomic techniques.
Hernandez earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and bachelor's degree in kinesiology from San Diego State University. Following graduate school, she pursued an orthopedic physical therapy residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and became a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist.
In her free time, she loves to hike, run, travel, explore new coffee shops and eat dark chocolate.
