About Cristiana Vasile, MD
Cristiana Vasile, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in treating glaucoma.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, she was a vision researcher at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center at the Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego School of Medicine and was the founding director of its Optic Nerve Reading Center. Her research discoveries have been published in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals and she has authored several book chapters.
Dr. Vasile completed fellowship training in glaucoma and residency training in ophthalmology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania.
She is fluent in English, Italian, French, Romanian and proficient in Spanish.
