Rama V. Subramanian, MD, FAAP

Rama V. Subramanian, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network. 

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region. 

As a pediatrician, Dr. Subramanian provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. She always loved working with children, but it was during medical school that she decided to become a pediatrician. Dr. Subramanian feels fortunate to have learned from many inspirational pediatricians who spread their passion to her. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with young kids and teenagers, and is drawn to their high amounts of energy, resilience and revitalizing mentality. She wants to serve the community by helping take care of the most precious and vulnerable members.

Dr. Subramanian completed her residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore in Bronx, N.Y. and earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and fluent in Tamil.

Outside of work, Dr. Subramanian enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son. They love meeting with friends and relatives, traveling, exploring parks and beaches, watching movies and TV shows, and playing music. In her spare time, Dr. Subramanian likes reading, listening to music, watching Indian movies and TV shows, trying new recipes in the kitchen, traveling and exploring new cities.
