About Marcella Katsnelson, DO

Marcella Katsnelson, DO, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Katsnelson is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. She does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments. Upon a patient's hospital discharge, Dr. Katsnelson communicates with their regular physician to ensure quality care.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Katsnelson was an academic hospitalist and associate program director of internal medicine residency at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey.

Dr. Katsnelson completed residency training in internal medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, District of Columbia and earned her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, N.J.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Society of Hospital Medicine and American Osteopathic Association.

In her free time, Dr. Katsnelson enjoys hiking and gardening. She speaks Russian fluently.
