Stephanie Schmitt, MD

Stephanie Schmitt, MD, is a palliative care physician who strives to improve the quality of life of adults and children with serious or life-threatening illnesses through the management of pain and other symptoms related to disease or treatment. She is dedicated to expanding and enhancing the benefits of palliative medicine across all ages, as well as improving communication with patients and their communities.

Dr. Schmitt completed her fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the University of San Diego School of Medicine and Scripps Health. She completed her residency in pediatrics UC San Diego/Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego where she was chief resident in her final year. She earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. She is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Outside of work, Dr. Schmitt enjoys backpacking, traveling, writing and spending time with her family.
