About Julia McMullen, LCSW

Julia McMullen, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who works with the college mental health program and specializes in the treatment of transitional-age youth, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and serious and persistent mental illness.

Julia utilizes an eclectic approach including therapy techniques such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT) and attachment-based therapy. Above all, she believes in creating a collaborative, inclusive, and client-centered approach, and truly enjoys the opportunity to support clients to feel more empowered.

Julia completed a Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University. She is a member of the EMDR International Association.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, travel, cooking, beach bonfires, and spending time with friends and family.
