About Jennifer Quartarolo, MD
Jennifer Quartarolo, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Quartarolo is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. She does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments. Upon a patient's discharge, Dr. Quartarolo communicates with their regular physician to ensure quality care.
Dr. Quartarolo is the medical director for Clinical Resource Management for UC San Diego Medical Center. As a professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Quartarolo instructs medical students, residents and fellows. She is involved in several quality improvement projects, including improving the hospital discharge process and optimizing screening and management of delirium in patients.
Dr. Quartarolo completed her internal medicine training at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo., where she also earned her medical degree. She is board certified in internal medicine.
