About Jill Buckley, MD
Jill Buckley, MD, is a board-certified urologist who specializes in urologic reconstructive surgery and robotic surgery. She has a special interest in caring for people with complex urinary conditions such as urethral stricture/obstruction, hypospadias, urinary tract fistulas (rectourethral and vesicovaginal), post prostatectomy male incontinence, ureteral injury/obstruction as well as those who have complications in the genitourinary area as a result of trauma. Her practice includes treating patients with complications of cancer therapy (prostate, colorectal and gynecologic) causing urinary obstruction, male incontinence following prostate surgery, urologic trauma injuries, urethral stricture disease and ureteral reconstruction.
Dr. Buckley has a unique skill set and interest in robotic surgery. She frequently performs complex robotic reconstruction of the ureter following injury/obstruction from other surgeries, cancer therapy, trauma or congenital conditions. She has given many invited lectureships on the topic of robotic reconstruction which include robotic bladder neck reconstruction, robotic urinary fistula repair and robotic ureteral reconstruction and reimplantation.
Her clinical research focuses on urethral reconstruction, complications from prostate cancer therapy, urinary trauma management, and genitourinary reconstruction for urethral stricture. She has authored numerous research manuscripts, several surgical textbooks on these topics and is an expert in her field.
Dr. Buckley completed her fellowship training in reconstructive and trauma surgery and residency training in urology at UC San Francisco School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. Dr. Buckley is board-certified in urology.
Dr. Buckley is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Urological Association, and served on the Board of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons. She is also a member of Trauma and Urinary Reconstructive Network of Surgeons (TURNS), a collaborative network of centers investigating treatment for conditions related to trauma and reconstructive surgery.
