About Pamela Ward, MSN, CNM
Pamela Ward, MSN, is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) who provides family-centered maternity care, along with well-woman care, family planning and other services. She delivers babies in our holistic, in-hospital birth center or in the traditional labor and delivery environment, depending on the desires and needs of her patients.
Ms. Ward has been a certified nurse-midwife since 1988 and has worked in university hospitals and private practice. She has delivered more than 4,000 babies and has been honored to be at each birth.
Ms. Ward is also a certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), which helps her assist new mothers with nursing their babies, and has been certified in electronic fetal monitoring (NCC EFM).
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from California State University, Fresno, and a Master of Science in nursing from Georgetown University.
Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2014, she spent 12 years at Parkland Health & Hospital System.
Ms. Ward is also a runner who has completed five marathons, and enjoys hiking, knitting and sewing.
