About Lisa Delano-Wood, PhD
Lisa Delano-Wood, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who directs UC San Diego Health's Memory, Aging and Resilience Clinic (MARC). The clinic provides comprehensive cognitive, emotional and physical health evaluation of older adults. She conducts clinical neuropsychological evaluations of individuals with a wide range of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
An associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Delano-Wood is involved in training psychology intern and practicum students as well as medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine and VA San Diego Healthcare System.
Dr. Delano-Wood's research focuses on understanding the relationship between cognitive functioning, vascular risk and brain changes across the aging spectrum, including normal aging, mild cognitive impairment and dementia such as Alzheimer's disease. She also studies the effects of traumatic brain injury on brain structure, cognition and clinical outcome. Her current research is funded by Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and the Alzheimer's Association.
Dr. Delano-Wood completed an internship in neuropsychology at UC San Diego and the VA San Diego Healthcare System. She received her master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology of aging from Michigan State University.
