Lisa Parry, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, specializing in the treatment of colorectal cancers and other intestinal disorders, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and diverticulitis.
Dr. Parry performs a variety of minimally invasive surgical procedures, including laparoscopy and transanal minimally invasive surgery (a procedure to remove rectal tumors, known as TAMIS). She is an expert in the surgical treatment of abdominal cancers, including neuroendocrine tumors, gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), sarcomas, and recurrent cancers, as well as non-cancerous anal and rectal conditions such as complex fistulas, hemorrhoids, and fissures.
As an associate professor in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Parry's research is focused on colon and rectal cancer, anal cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. Her research has been published in a variety of journals, including Cell and Archives of Surgery. Dr. Parry earned her medical degree at University of California Davis School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Georgia Colon and Rectal Surgical Associates. She is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Parry is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
In her free time, she enjoys running and recently began competing in half-marathons with her twin sister.
