About Oluwole Fadare, MD
Oluwole Fadare, MD, is a board-certified pathologist who specializes in gynecologic and breast cancers. As a pathologist, he studies cells and tissues from biopsies and excisions to provide a definitive diagnosis of disease and define their extent.
Dr. Fadare is a professor of pathology in the UC San Diego School of Medicine and directs the surgical pathology section, as well as the surgical pathology fellowship. His research interests include abnormal growths of the gynecologic tract and breast. He is especially interested in tumors of the uterus.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Fadare was an associate professor in the Departments of Pathology and Obstetrics & Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also served as associate director of Surgical Pathology and medical director of the Immunohistochemistry and Histopathology Laboratories.
Dr. Fadare completed a fellowship in breast and gynecologic pathology at the Yale School of Medicine and his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Fadare is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
