About Marcia Isakari, MD, MPH
Marcia Isakari, MD, MPH, is a board-certified occupational medicine physician. She has extensive clinical and leadership experience directing occupational medicine clinics and delivering clinical services to employers in virtually all industrial sectors, including biotech/life sciences/technology, public entity, and manufacturing.
Her expertise includes treatment and management of work-related injuries, medical surveillance/hazmat exams, physical exams, hearing conservation evaluation, drug screen result verification, and commercial driver evaluation.
Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2015, Dr. Isakari was the occupational medicine physician lead at Dignity Health-Woodland Healthcare in Davis, Calif. Previously, she was the Medical Director at Sutter Regional Medical Foundation in Vacaville, Calif., and Dignity Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton and Manteca, Calif.
Dr. Isakari completed her residency in occupational and environmental medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and in family medicine at UC Davis. She earned her medical degree from Pontifical University of Campinas in Brazil and a master's degree in public health with a specialization in occupational medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
She is board certified in occupational medicine and also certified as a medical review officer, professional supervisor in hearing conservation, and a Department of Transportation medical examiner.
