About Julie Çelebi, MD
Julie Çelebi, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to practicing the full breadth of primary care and caring for patients of all ages, including children and adults. She is skilled in chronic disease management while also focused on preventive medicine and helping patients strive for their best health.
Some of Dr. Çelebi's interests include women's health, prenatal care and delivering babies, LGBT healthcare, and adolescent health. She is proficient in several procedures such as skin biopsies, contraceptive insertion, and cervical cancer screening. She has experience practicing medicine abroad and with medically vulnerable populations and enjoys fostering long-term relationships with patients, caring for families, and empowering patients with a greater awareness of their health conditions. Dr. Çelebi has expertise in providing gender-affirming care to transgender and nonbinary patients.
Dr. Çelebi is an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health at UC San Diego School of Medicine and is actively involved in educating health care professionals.
Dr. Çelebi completed her residency in family medicine at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, Calif., and earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She also holds a Master of Science from Wayne State University. Dr. Çelebi is board certified in family medicine.
Her outside interests include spending time with her partner and two children, journaling/blogging, poetry, yoga, dancing, and exploring different ethnic foods. Dr. Çelebi is fluent in Spanish in addition to English.
