About Evan C. White, MD

Evan White, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in treating a wide range of cancer types. His focus is in gastrointestinal, lymphoma, head and neck, lung, prostate, and skin cancer.

Dr. White's expertise includes stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy, (SBRT), conformal radiation therapy (CRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy. He also works closely with medical oncologists and surgeons to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care.

As an associate professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences, Dr. White instructs medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

He has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and national presentations. His work has appeared in journals such as International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, Radiotherapy and Oncology, and American Journal of Clinical Oncology, among others.

Dr. White completed a residency in radiation oncology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. He is board certified in radiation oncology.

An active researcher and volunteer, Dr. White has worked on several projects, focusing on clinical outcomes research in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, lymphomas, and central nervous system malignancies. As a volunteer, he served in the Los Angeles STEM mentoring program, UCLA's Mobile Clinic Project and UCSD's Student Run Free Clinic Project.

He is a member of many organizations, including the American College of Radiation Oncology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

Outside of work, Dr. White enjoys cycling, backpacking, gardening, international travel, and cooking with his wife.
