About Brian Livingstone, ATC
Brian Livingstone, is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) who specializes in sports medicine, biomechanical evaluation and performance enhancement. He has additional certifications as a corrective exercise specialist (CES) and a performance enhancement specialist (PES).
Livingstone comes to UC San Diego Health with 14 years of experience as a physician extender working in the military setting. He was a member of the sports medicine and reconditioning team at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, where he treated US Marine Corps recruits, drill instructors and supporting staff with a variety of sports injuries, including stress fractures.
Livingstone is a San Diego native and has been involved in sports medicine outreach in the community since 1995. He served as the sports medicine liaison to the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section, as well as the head athletic trainer at University City High School and Horizon Christian Academy High School. He has extensive experience working with athletes at all levels and sports, including modern dance, soccer, aquatics, rugby, golf and the X Games. Livingstone also competed in soccer and water polo at the collegiate level.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Humboldt State University and attended the graduate program in sports psychology at San Diego State University.
