About Patricia Rubio, MS, RD, CNSC

Patricia Rubio, MS, CNSC, is a registered dietitian who counsels people on their eating habits to improve health and help treat diseases. She provides nutrition education as well as medical nutrition therapy for individuals with chronic illnesses such as cancer. Ms. Rubio is part of the multidisciplinary head and neck cancer team at Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health, where she works closely with patients to implement strategies to help manage their side effects during different stages of treatment.

Oncology is an area that has impacted Ms. Rubio's life on a personal level, inspiring her to seek a work environment where she could apply her expertise to help others afflicted with cancer. She is dedicated to improving patients' quality of life and is committed to researching new areas to promote nutrition and wellness for her patients.

Ms. Rubio completed a Master of Science in dietetics and nutrition from Florida International University in Miami and a bachelor's degree in nutrition from University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. She also holds a master's degree in business and administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Ms. Rubio is a certified nutrition support clinician (CNSC) and a member of the American Society of Parental and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN).

Outside of work, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children.
