Ryan Moran, MD, MPH, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor. He provides primary care for adults, including preventive and geriatric care. He also diagnoses and treats acute and chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
As a primary care physician at an academic medical center, Dr. Moran supervises and teaches medical students and residents. His research interests include general preventive medicine, public health, and population-based research, including prevention of acute and chronic disease.
Dr. Moran completed a residency in general preventative medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he served as co-chief resident. In addition, he completed a residency in internal medicine and earned his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He earned a master's degree in public health from San Diego State University, with an emphasis on health management and policy. He is board certified in internal medicine and public health and general preventive medicine.
Dr. Moran is a member of the American College of Preventive Medicine and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a fellow of The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship® in Baltimore, where he provided outreach services for incarcerated youth and at-risk teens.
In addition to his work at UC San Diego, Dr. Moran also provides care for underserved populations in the broader San Diego region and is actively engaged in numerous ongoing research activities.
