Lee Ralph, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network. UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As a primary care physician with an expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Ralph provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He has an emphasis on the treatment of athletic injuries, including concussion.
Dr. Ralph serves as a team physician for San Diego State University Athletics. He has been repeatedly honored as a top doctor in San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" annual survey performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society. In 2019, Dr. Ralph was named as the Family Physician of the Year by the California Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Ralph has been involved in clinical research evaluating new therapies for type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, and injury.
Holding leadership roles in the California Academy of Family Physicians, and San Diego Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Ralph is dedicated to continuing education and excellence in family medicine.
Before joining San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center, Dr. Ralph was a family medicine physician at UC San Diego Health for many years.
Dr. Ralph earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, VA. He completed his residency and fellowship training at UC San Diego Medical Center, and is board certified in family medicine with a subspecialty in sports medicine.
