Jeffrey Anthony, DO

Jeffrey Anthony, DO, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a primary care physician with an expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Anthony provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He has an emphasis on the treatment of athletic injuries, including concussion.

Avidly engaged in San Diego athletics, Dr. Anthony is a team physician for the U.S. Olympic Training Center, San Diego State University Athletics, San Diego Christian College, Cuyamaca College and Santa Fe Christian High School. He also serves as team physician for the Challenged Athletes Foundation Annual Million Dollar Challenge, a role he has held since 2007.

Dr. Anthony is involved in clinical research evaluating new therapies for chronic disease, infection, and injury, and he regularly presents to medical scientific communities on pain caused by injury and head trauma.

Dr. Anthony earned his doctor of osteopathy from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his residency and served as chief resident at Phoenix General Hospital, and completed a fellowship at San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. He is board certified in family medicine with a subspecialty in sports medicine, and he is a fellow of both the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Practice.
