Michelle Look, MD, FAAFP

Michelle Look, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a primary care physician with an expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Look provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. She has a special interest in sports medicine, wellness and obesity. Dr. Look was honored by San Diego Magazine and the San Diego County Medical Society as one of San Diego's "Top Doctors" in family medicine and sports medicine.

Dr. Look completed her residency in family medicine at Sharp Grossmont Hospital and earned her medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University. She is board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine with a subspecialty in sports medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). She is fluent in conversational Japanese and Chinese.

Outside of work, Dr. Look enjoys ocean kayaking, running, dancing and listening to Hawaiian music. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association San Diego Chapter and was the National Medical Director for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk for several years. Dr. Look was a team physician for the United States 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. She is currently a staff physician for the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista and a team physician for the USA Men's and Women's Rugby Sevens Team.
