About Amy Kakimoto, MD

Amy Kakimoto, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the North Coast Family Medical Group. She is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network. UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a primary care physician with an expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Kakimoto provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. She also enjoys arthritis care, pediatric care, as well as women's health.

She earned her medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine, and completed her residency and fellowship training at UC San Diego Medical Center. She is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine.

Dr. Kakimoto serves as a volunteer physician with the Flying Samaritans, a nonprofit that provides free health services to underserved communities in Mexico. She enjoys traveling to new places, cooking and spending time with her husband and two children.
