About John LaFata, MD
John LaFata, MD, is a board-certified internist providing primary care through North County Internal Medicine. He is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As an internal medicine practitioner, Dr. LaFata provides primary care to adults - including preventive care, and diagnosing and treating chronic and acute conditions. He enjoys the general medical, health maintenance, disease prevention, and healthy life-style issues of teens through centenarians.
Dr. LaFata completed his residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. LaFata is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. LaFata enjoys his family, golf, photography, and Christian-based medical missions trips to serve medically-underserved parts of the world.
