About Lisa J. Black, PsyD
Lisa Black, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist. She sees patients in the primary care setting where she collaborates closely with medical teams to deliver integrative care that addresses each person's unique needs. This multidisciplinary approach to care helps her identify the most effective treatment options for mental health and neurological related challenges.
In this capacity, Dr. Black is the lead therapist for biofeedback and neurofeedback services offered through UC San Diego Health's family medicine collaborative care program. She is also a psychologist with UC San Diego Health's sport medicine concussion clinic, where her role is to assess and identify the best mental health treatment options for sport and non-sport concussion-related injuries.
Her specialization also includes integrative psychology, LGBTQ care, and issues related to acculturation.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Black conducts research on topics related to collaborative care, concussions, biofeedback and neurofeedback. She is the recipient of a UC San Diego Frontiers of Innovation Scholars Program (FISP), which provided grant support for her pioneering work to develop and implement neurofeedback services into UC San Diego Health's family medicine program.
Dr. Black earned her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in integrative psychology, from Alliant International University in San Diego. She is board certified in both biofeedback (BCB) and neurofeedback (BCN).
