About Maya S. D'Eon, PhD
Maya D'Eon, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who helps individuals with mood disorders (such as depression and anxiety), chronic pain and chronic medical conditions that can impact mental health.
Her practice focuses on delivering research-supported treatments (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy) that can empower individuals to learn strategies to improve quality of life and daily life functioning. She also conducts psychosocial assessments.
Her research has examined factors that help and hinder successful self-management of chronic health conditions. She is also interested in the development and implementation of psychosocial interventions for health promotion for individuals with chronic medical conditions.
Reflecting her interest in patient care and compassionate care, she is a wellness ambassador at UC San Diego Health and a member of the UC San Diego Patient and Employee Experience Workgroup.
Dr. D'Eon completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Diego School of Medicine and earned her doctorate from San Diego State University/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.
Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, mindfulness meditation and cycling.
