Pratibha Binder, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating female reproductive system cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, endometrial, vulvar and vaginal cancer. Her expertise also includes surgical management of these cancers.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Dr. Binder instructs medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her research focuses on improving surgical outcomes and developing clinical trials for cancer therapy. Dr. Binder has co-authored many peer-reviewed articles, and her work has been published in journals such as Gynecologic Oncology and American Journal of Obstetric Gynecology, among others.
Dr. Binder completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine and also holds a master's degree in science and clinical investigation from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
She is a member of many professional organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Outside of work, Dr. Binder enjoys traveling and has visited Iceland, Spain, Portugal, India, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Africa in recent years. She also enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, paddle boarding and biking. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu. In addition to patient care at Moores Cancer Center, Dr. Binder also sees patients at a satellite location in Murrieta.
