About Alice Sutton, MD, FACOG
Alice Sutton, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist who provides expert prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, as well as comprehensive gynecological care, including well-woman visits, family planning (contraception counseling and all types of long-term reversible contraception), and treatment for issues such as abnormal bleeding, gynecological infections or sexually transmitted diseases.
As a physician in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Sutton instructs medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her research interests include medical ethics and outcomes in medically underserved populations in obstetrics and gynecology. Her work has been published in Topics in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Dr. Sutton completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University Hospital, where she was selected as administrative chief resident and recognized for her excellence and contributions to the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Dr. Sutton is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), and a member of the Society of Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology (SASGOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO).

Outside of work, Dr. Sutton enjoys spending time with her husband, exploring San Diego, reading, cooking and playing trivia.
