About Valerie L. Waters, MS, FNP-C
Valerie Waters, MS, is a certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) who cares for people of all ages in urgent care with health issues including vomiting, dehydration, strains and sprains, fever and flu, infections and skin rashes, accidents and falls, cuts that require stitches, and minor trauma.
She also treats patients in the emergency department including those with life-threatening or critical conditions.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Waters was a registered nurse at Sharp Memorial Hospital, caring for people in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, and patients with medically complex conditions.
Waters earned her master's degree from USD Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science and her bachelor's degree in nursing from University of Vermont.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, ocean swimming, and traveling. She speaks some Spanish.
