Terri Cheng, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to practicing the full spectrum of primary care and caring for patients of all ages, including children and adults.
She has a special interest in women's health care, including well-women care, contraception and family planning, and outpatient gynecological procedures such as endometrial biopsies and colposcopy. She believes in treating the person as a whole and the importance of good patient-provider communication.
As a primary care physician in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Cheng is involved in training medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Cheng completed a fellowship in women's health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J. She was a resident at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where she also earned her medical degree. She is board certified in family medicine.
She is a member of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Cheng enjoys exploring the outdoors, running, hiking, yoga, and traveling. She speaks basic Spanish and Mandarin.
