Meghann (Kyle) Greear, AuD, is a certified audiologist who provides audiologic (hearing) testing and treatment to patients over the age of 5 and vestibular (balance) testing for adults. She has a special interest in cochlear implants, auditory brainstem implants, osseointegrated hearing implants, hearing aids and assistive listening devices. She treats and diagnoses hearing and balance disorders using advanced technologies.
Meghann is committed to helping people find personalized solutions for adjusting to hearing loss, including how to manage conversation, learning new listening strategies, using assistive listening devices (such as Bluetooth, FM or telecoil), and leveraging aural rehabilitation.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Meghann served as an audiologist at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston and at California Head and Neck Specialists in La Jolla. Her research, which has been published in the Journal of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and presented nationally, has contributed to the understanding of societal-level and personally modifiable risk factors associated with hearing loss.
Meghann earned a doctoral degree in audiology (AuD) from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She completed her clinical training as an audiology doctoral student at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the State of California.
Meghann is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Outside of work, Meghann enjoys hiking, yoga and spending time with family and friends.
