Shakha Vora Gillin, MD

Shakha Gillin, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing primary care through Coast Pediatrics in Del Mar. She is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

Dr. Gillin provides general pediatric care. She has a special interest in preventive care, particularly healthy and active lifestyles for children. She has been repeatedly elected as a top doctor in San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" annual survey performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society.

Before joining Coast Pediatrics, Dr. Gillin was in private practice in La Jolla and Encinitas, and also worked in the emergency department at Rady Children's Hospital.

She is a contributing author for HealthyChildren.org, a website of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She founded the North County Pediatric Journal Club, a meeting of local pediatricians who discuss the latest pediatric medical topics.

Dr. Gillin earned her medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed her residency training at UC Irvine Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Gillin is a Francis Parker board trustee and previously served on the board of Hanna Fenichel preschool.
