About Isac C. Thomas, MD, MPH
Isac Thomas, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in treating and preventing heart disease. Dr. Thomas evaluates patients' current heart conditions with a focus on preventive medicine to neutralize or slow the progression of heart disease.
As a cardiologist at an academic medical center, Dr. Thomas is active in teaching students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He has co-authored numerous articles and his work has appeared Journal of the American College of Cardiology and European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging, among others.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Thomas was an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular epidemiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and holds a master's degree in public health from San Diego State University Graduate School of Public Health. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
