About Soo-In Choi, MD
Soo Choi, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist who diagnoses and treats autoimmune conditions and musculoskeletal diseases that affect the joints, muscles, connective tissue and bones. This may include conditions such as back pain and muscle strains, and diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and lupus.
In addition to her clinical care, Dr. Choi is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, where she instructs medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Choi was an assistant professor in the Division of Rheumatology at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine.
She completed a fellowship in rheumatology at UCLA Medical Center, where she also did her residency in internal medicine. Dr. Choi earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore. She is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine.
She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
In her spare time, Dr. Choi enjoys hiking, reading and origami. Besides English, she also speaks Korean.
