About Byron Richard, MS, RD
Byron Richard, MS, CDE, is a registered dietitian who counsels people on eating habits to improve health and treat diseases. He provides nutrition education as well as medical nutrition therapy for individuals needing assistance with weight management, malnutrition and diabetes. Additionally, he counsels adults in general nutrition.
He is available to see patients by physician referrals only.
As the clinical nutrition manager, Mr. Richard also leads of team of registered dietitians for Nutrition Services at UC San Diego Health.
Mr. Richard earned a Master of Science in nutrition from Texas Tech University. He holds a bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and also completed a master's degree in agriculture at Texas A&M University.
He is a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Diabetics and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Outside of work, Mr. Richard's interests include travel, exercise and healthy aging.
