About Ian Lowe, PsyD
Ian Lowe, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist. He provides initial psychological assessment and therapy for individuals and couples that are facing an array of presenting issues. He works closely with multidisciplinary clinicians to provide a holistic approach to care.
In psychotherapy, Dr. Lowe focuses on issues including anxiety, depression, substance dependence, grief, relational issues, and other psychological or emotional issues. He utilizes evidence-based approaches, specializing in acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Dr. Lowe serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry. He works with trainees from multiple disciplines (e.g. psychiatry, social work, nursing) to provide education and supervision related to mental health. He has significant experience providing training, teaching and mentoring in medical settings.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Lowe worked as a staff psychologist at Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Loma Linda, Calif. to provide multidisciplinary care to veterans and their families with mental illness and adjustment issues.
Dr. Lowe completed his internship at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif.
