About Mark Ginsberg, MD
Mark Ginsberg, MD is a rheumatologist who diagnoses and treats chronic musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune conditions. He offers nonsurgical treatment for diseases such as osteoarthritis, gout and rheumatoid arthritis.
As a professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Ginsberg has published more than 300 original scientific publications, largely devoted to the study of cell adhesion mechanisms relevant to treating rheumatic diseases.
He has received numerous honors, including a Distinguished Career Award from the International Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis, a Sol Sherry Distinguished Lectureship from the American Heart Association and the Earl Benditt Prize from the North American Vascular Biology Organization. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. He is also a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2004, Dr. Ginsberg was a professor in the Department of Vascular Biology and the Department of Cell Biology at the Scripps Research Institute.
He completed fellowship and resident training in at Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He earned his medical degree from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, graduating summa cum laude.
