About Kirsten Limmer, MD, PhD
Kirsten Limmer, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in the care of newborns. As a physician in the newborn nursery, Dr. Limmer meets with parents and their babies during their postpartum stay in the hospital, providing daily care to infants. This care includes newborn examinations, screening tests and breastfeeding help.
She previously served as a newborn hospitalist in the neonatal intensive care unit, providing comprehensive, family-centered care for infants who are born early, have medical challenges, or are recovering from surgery.
Dr. Limmer completed her pediatric residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston. She earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a PhD in molecular biology at UC San Diego. She is board-certified in general pediatrics.
