About Laura E. Sudano, PhD, LMFT
Laura Sudano, PhD, is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with Integrated Behavioral Health at UC San Diego Health, where she collaborates with primary care physicians to deliver integrated, whole-person care. She specializes in therapy to address sport performance, other performance issues, anxiety and depression. She also offers family and couples therapy.
She has lectured and conducted research on topics as diverse as primary care behavioral health (i.e., integrated care) and mental health in student-athletes. She also teaches behavioral science and family-oriented care to residents, faculty, medical students and behavioral health providers.
Dr. Sudano completed residency training in marriage and family therapy at St. Mary's Medical Center in Colorado. She earned her doctorate in human development, with emphasis in marriage and family therapy, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She obtained a master's in marital and family therapy at University of San Diego.
